Collect
Holy and Gracious God, you humbled yourself for a season, taking flesh through the Incarnation. You emptied yourself through the suffering and death of your son Jesus, the Paschal Lamb. You surrender yourself again and again out of deep love for a sinful and fickle people—who shout hosannas one moment and condemnations the next. As we share in Christ’s Paschal journey— to Jerusalem, to Gethsemane, to the cross, and to a cold, dark tomb—mercifully grant that we too may share in the burden of his suffering and the joy of his resurrection. Through your son Jesus Christ, who was obedient unto death, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God forever and ever. Amen.
